What is something you have changed your perspective on in the past two years?
Over the past few years, my relationship with food has profoundly transformed. I used to focus solely on eating ‘right’—counting calories, avoiding certain ingredients, chasing perfection. But I’ve come to understand that food is so much more than fuel; it’s connection, culture, comfort, and joy. Being mindful of what we eat is important, but so is giving ourselves permission to truly savor and enjoy every bite without guilt. That balance has brought me a sense of peace I never knew I needed.

Who has been the most influential person in shaping you as a Health & Performance Coach?
Janine has been the most influential person in shaping my journey as a health and performance coach. Everything I know today began with what she taught me..

Who has had the greatest impact on you as a person?
Junelle has had the greatest impact on me as a person. She’s been my constant support, helping shape me into who I am today.

What are your top 3–5 book recommendations for personal growth, performance, or leadership?
I haven’t been much of a book person, mostly because the books I’ve read have been medical or academic. But Peak Performance by Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness really resonated with me—it was one of the few that genuinely captured my interest.

What are your current personal training or athletic goals?
My primary goal is to maintain good health and well-being, but I believe growth happens when we challenge ourselves. That’s why I’ve set my sights on completing a Spartan Race Trifecta—a test of strength, endurance, and mindset. It’s not just about finishing the race, but proving to myself that with dedication and resilience, I can push beyond my limits.

What inspired you to choose a career in the fitness and performance industry?
Working in the medical field, I’ve witnessed the pain and struggles that come when health deteriorates. Those moments stayed with me and sparked a deep desire to make a difference earlier—by helping people through fitness to prevent suffering before it begins. That’s what led me to choose this path, driven by a passion to empower others to take charge of their well-being.

What qualities do you believe are most important in an exceptional coach?
A great coach just really listens and gets what you’re about—your goals and the stuff you’re dealing with. Showing empathy helps build trust and keeps you motivated. And being clear and honest means you always know what’s up and feel good about the process.

What is one fun or unique fact about you that clients might be surprised to learn?
My family calls me ‘Bok,’ a nickname from the Filipino word tambok, meaning fat—because I was always the chubby kid growing up. But stepping into VO2Max was a turning point. It wasn’t just about losing weight—it was about finding confidence, strength, and a new mindset. Since then, I’ve been committed to showing up for myself every day, striving to be just a little better than I was yesterday.

What is your coaching philosophy?
Don’t just coach it—live it
